The Mobile Appraiser Part 5 - Powering Your Mobile Gadgets

This is the fifth in a series of articles on technology for the mobile appraiser:

Do you have a jumble of wires and car adapters for your cell-phone, PDA, or laptop?
You can eliminate a lot of the clutter with a simple, inexpensive device called an inverter.

An inverter converts the 12 volt DC power from your car to 110 volt AC for your mobile accessories. This means that you don't have to buy (or keep track of) an expensive car adapter; your mobile device will plug directly into the inverter, just like it does at home!

Inverters cost around $30 and can be purchased at Home Depot or virtually any hardware or auto parts store. Or you can buy them on-line at stores like www.invertersrus.com. You don't need much more than 200 watts, unless you're intending to plug in a blender to make Maragaritas. Then you might need about 800 watts or so ;-)

Whatever you plug into it, an inverter is a *great* little device that will save you time, money and hassles.
If only everything could be that way . . .

Next issue : ClickTALK will switch topics to "The Internet Appraiser"

AnswerTeam Tech Tip:
Using Alternate Forms When Exporting to AI Ready

When exporting your report thru AI Ready (Appraisal Port),
you may receive a notice window showing certain forms cannot be converted.

This notice indicates that some of the forms in your report are not AppraisalPort complaint. On the right side will be a list of Possible Alternate Forms. For example, Invoice #1 will not convert BUT has an alternate form Invoice #5 (Lighthouse) AI Ready Invoice.

If you desire to use the alternate forms, click on the NO button, which will stop the export. If you click YES, the conversion will continue WITHOUT any of the forms listed.

To use the alternate forms, go to the Forms Library and locate the AI Ready folder. Most alternates can be found here. Double click on the AI Ready Invoice to add it to your report. Make sure the new invoice has all the information then delete the old invoice.
Go to File > Export To > Appraisal Port and try the conversion again. If there are any forms with No Alternative Available,
click YES and the conversion will continue without these forms.
