Motion Computing Tablets Fly Off the Shelves We are pleased at the enthusiastic response to the new Motion Computing M1400 tablet PC recently available through your friendly account manager. We have heard from many people that have been considering "going mobile", but just hadn't taken the step yet. Perhaps they hadn't seen the right equipment yet, perhaps the timing is just right. Whatever the reason, our customers are deciding that now is the time to make the move, and we have the right hardware for them. Why? If you knew you had the option of entering data only once, instead of twice, would you do it? If you knew that the entire report could be easily completed in the field during and between appointments, would you have more time in the evenings? If you could talk to your clipboard and have it fill out your report for you, would you take it everywhere you went? A tablet PC is a complete Windows XP computer in a compact package. But its unique features of speech and writing recognition, and its small size, make it a unique productivity tool. It's the clipboard that acts like a computer. Perhaps this is why so many of you have already purchased one. Don't worry; there are enough to go around. Why to Buy a Tablet from Us We take the responsibility of providing you with the best productivity tools very seriously. When we chose to make the Motion Computing tablet available to you, it was after researching the options, evaluating performance, features and quality of engineering. We also took into account the market we are selling into, which is a factor often overlooked by the generic reviews. Now the Motion Computing M1400 has actually been highly praised in the reviews, so we know we've got a good product here. But even if you decide this is the right computer for you, you may find you have options of where to buy it. Several of our customers have pointed out that Gateway sells the Motion Computing tablet with their brand on it. There may even be others that do the same thing. Some people were even convinced that Gateway actually made this computer, which is not true. Motion Computing engineered and built this computer and sells through resellers like Bradford Technologies and Gateway. In this respect, Gateway is no different than us... except Gateway is not addressing the needs of appraisers. The Motion Computing tablet is a configure to order computer with many options. We have made all of the options available that support the goals of mobile appraising. While I believe that Gateway also understands their own primary market, here are the differences that you should be aware of:
The point is that we are selling into very different markets. Gateway appears to be catering to the person that needs a computer to take to conference room meetings. We cater to appraisers that may be in the field all day away from power, outside in the bright sun or rain, carrying the tablet through shrubs, and may even want to use this as their primary computer. The bottom line is, if you are an appraiser and sold on the Motion Computing table, you want to buy it from us. Please call us if you have any questions.
